Accessibility statement

Last reviewed October 16, 2026.

Catholic School Compass is meant to work for every family: with a keyboard, a screen reader, a phone, large text, or dark mode. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

What we do

  • We run an automated accessibility check on the site’s main pages every night, on phones and computers, in light and dark mode, in English and Spanish.
  • We fix what the check finds, and we test each fix by hand with a keyboard before it goes live.
  • Every page has a skip link, one main heading, the correct language setting, and labels on its buttons and form fields.
  • Ratings and grades are never shown by color alone. Each one also has its letter or its words.
  • The site follows your device settings for dark mode and reduced motion.

Known gaps

We know of these gaps and are working on them:

  • Maps are drawn graphics. Every school’s address is also written out in text on its page.
  • Some maps and sign-in with Google are provided by other companies. We label our own text and buttons around them, but we cannot change how they are built.

Tell us about a problem

If something is hard to use, send us a note through the corrections form. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened, and what device or browser you were using. Please do not include personal information.

We will fix problems we can reproduce, and we will tell you when we can if we need more detail.
